I bought Invisible by Jeanne Bannon. I'll be posting a review on tomorrow as part of the Invisible Blog Tour.
Great post!

I try to alternate indie and traditional. Here are some of my favorites. They're all worth paying for!
The Company of Fellows
Virtual Strangers
Appalachian Justice
The Legend of Jimmy Gollihue
The Sickle's Compass
Peril
Austin Nights

The Independent Author Network is home to many indies of different genres if you're looking for some.

I'll pass on mentioning some I didn't enjoy.

Hi Rebecca,
As a sel-pub, I just have to say a huge thank you from all of us! You don;t know how much your support menas to self-published authors. We jump up and down every time we see one of our books has been sold, to see you have bought and enjoyed so many, really makes me smile. You might want to think about having a blog to tell others about all the great indie books you have been reading!

Thats so great! Thank You for sharing.
I've read these indie books recently (all very good), and I've written a few myself.

I love Holiday reads and am really looking forward to it.

M. Clifford is an AMAZING indie author. HIGHLY recommended. I've read two of his books (The Muse of Edouard Manet and Felinian) and he's got two more that I haven't read yet, but plan to.
J.C. Phelps is not that great. Her characters seem good, but she doesn't develop the relationships between her characters enough and she tells rather than shows CONSTANTLY. Kind of annoying. I read all her books anyway though.

I've found a few authors that I will continue to read and I'm currently reading 'Hal' by Derek Haines. It's a great story and I found it through the author's blog.
It's strange that I enjoyed his blog for three months before picking up his book. Human nature is funny that way...Hal
Indie books can be published by a publisher too, just not a traditional one. I am planning to read books by goodreads authors, but have not had the time yet. There are some really interesting titles on our site. I have read quite a few by indie authors before I joined goodreads and read about our goodread authors' books.

There are some really great authors here! I write, and have met some great authors myself. Definitely look up some of the books here. :)

And I've had some truly dreadful experiences too... but will keep supporting 'the cause'... !! :)
The brilliant thing about kindle is the generous samples and the fact that you can request a refund if the book is terrible.

Depending on who the author published through, you can only put a certain amount of the book in the sample. So, if you can only do 20%, and that's in the middle of the chapter, there's really no way around it. But, I agree, I hate being cut off in the middle of the chapter!
I haven't found a bad Indie book yet. Every one I have read has been unique and interesting, and I've really enjoyed all of them. I'm sure there is a bad one out there, but I also think what may be bad to me may not be bad to someone else.
I'm currently reading an upcoming book, and it is great! Check out this series from a fellow author friend of mine:
Before (The prequel)
Masquerade (The upcoming novel)

I'm halfway through reading my first indie-book and am enjoying it. I wouldn't have been too interested but I have just published my own (Pike's Quest, check it out!) and if I'm prepared to bare my soul this way I think I should support others who follow this route.
It stands to reason that now e-books allow people to publish for free, without editorial input from professional publishing houses, the quality with vary. the one I am currently reading is well written but suffers some formatting issues. I've also read through my own on Kindle recently and found a few minor formatting issues that I've rectified.
Having said that, I've read some real dross from well-known authors who are published by big publishing houses, and found spelling, formatting and grammatical errors in them as well.
I'm hoping that my stuff is of an acceptable standard ...

I may be wrong, but does both your digital and paperback have the same sells link? When I published my book on paperback, I had to join links in order for them to sell on the same page on Amazon. Let me know, and I'll see if I can be of any help. :)

All have same cover. Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ indicates two other versions, but does not show covers. Also Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ only acknowledges the paperback to be on its site.

Also Dead Wood, a murder mystery set in Grosse Point. Moved along well and the main character, an ex-cop turned P.I. is pretty standard. What set it apart was the character isn't the hard-boiled gumshoe that goes home to the wife and kids every night. His big sister is the town sheriff and their interactions and sibling rivalry adds interest.
Finally, Gray Justice, a nicely paced thriller. Liked the story but occasionally the author got into the computer stuff too deeply. It distracted a bit from the pace but only in places and for half a page or so. For the fan of the 'lone wolf gets even' its got enough twists to not be the standard fare.

Simply put the name and author of the indie book you bought, so they can stop by and see it. Feel free to let them know what you thought of it, if you have finished.
