I like that sometimes as well, Colleen. Makes me feel like the author is putting me in the characters shoes and I become the character. Depending on the plot of the story, I enjoy that feeling very much!
Finished Victim by Gayle Wilson, currently reading Hold Back the Dark by Eileen Carr. Very good so far, but I'm only on page 74.

"When You Believe" is very good, I am almost done and will post my review in a day or two.
I am ordering "Under Her Skin" and Witchling" from Barnes and Nobel today. I should have them by next week.
Finished Hold Back the Dark. It was more of a 3.5 to 4 stars for me. Some thought it was great, but I figured out who the killer was halfway through the book. I just didn't understand why. The ending though, was worth the read.
I'm about halfway through Blindsighted by Karin Slaughter, "Grant County" book #1. Really good! Halfway through and I'm baffled, the characters are engaging, a sick, sadistic killer, and I just hit a twist in the book... definitely worth the read - and I'm not even done yet, LOL!

Fatal tide by Iris Johanssen
Fire in the fiction=one of my writing guides
Finished Blindsighted. Very good book!
Currently reading Black Out by Lisa Unger. I had a hard time getting into it, but now it has me intrigued. I'm on page 154 and it's 550 pages.

Just finished
'Scuse While I Kill This Guy (Bombay Assassins, Book 1) by Leslie Langtry. This book was recommended by Karen and kudos to her for finding this gem. It is the story of a family of assassins who have been in the business since ancient Greece. You wonder what really happened to Philip of Macedonia. LOL, the Bombays KNOW. It was a fun, lighthearted romp. I plan to continue with the series and would recommend it to anyone who likes a good laugh.

Karen,
My local library has the complete set. I hope to stop by in the next few days and pick up GWKUT, Book 2. I want to read them in order because of the subplot about the Bombay Fanily Council. Have you tried buying a used copy online??

Just picked up

Stand By Your Hitman (Books 2 and 3, Bombay Family Assassins) by Leslie Langtry from my local library.

I finished Black Out by Lisa Unger. Not bad, but I'm not sure I like her writing style. It's the second book I read by her...
Started and finished Under Her Skin by Susan Mallery. I thought the book was cute! I'll post a review as soon as I can.
I started Afraid by Jack Kilborn. I had to put it aside as I promised to read another book first. However, I had an extremely hard time putting it down and can't wait to get back to it.
I started and finished Cry No More by Linda Howard. OMG, if you read this book, keep a box of kleenex handy. Holy moly! At first, I thought the book dragged, but picked up around the middle, and the ending! I could feel my heart ripping in two as much as the main character's was. Definitely a book worth reading!
Currently Reading: Dearly Devoted Dexter by Jeff Lindsay (Dexter, Book #2) and loving it!

I picked up Death Angel, but I think I'll hold onto it until maybe September. I'm trying to cram as many 'new-to-me' authors this summer as I can, LOL!

Connie Brockway is a good read too. Skinny Dipping was a good book.
Funny. As good as the first book. I laughed out loud at several points. I read online that the fourth book, Coney's story, is the last volume in the series. I was actually hoping it would continue with the European cousins.

I started "The Carter Street Hangman" by Anne Perry, all I can say it that looks can be deceiving. I thought I would like this one.

I am now reading Witchling. I am really enjoying this book.
I finished

Stand By Your Hitman by Leslie Langtry. It was as cute and funny as the others in the series. Hope to get ahold of Book 4 of the Bombay Family Assassins series, I Shot You Babe, very soon.
I am moving on on to
Vengeance in Death, Book 6 in the In Death series by J.D. Robb (pseudonym for Nora Roberts). Gina has recommended this series for years. I hope to get most read this summer between other books.
I am moving on on to

it's coming soon Kathleen going to get it soon as it does
Gina,
The series is very good. I rated the books that I've read in the series with mostly four or five stars. I gave one book three stars. When Roberts is at the top of her game, the book zings. I admire that she keeps creating new mysteries without recycling the old stories. I also admire anyone who can create a future world as realistic as hers.

I think that's why I really like that series, Kathleen. Futuristic/sci-fi, but not over the top. She writes it so believably that you can actually picture all of it being real 50 years from now. The stories, plots, mysteries, never get old.

I picked up both of our July reads today. I will probably start
Night Child later this evening. After that I will move on to
Where the Heart Leads.

Oh, for the love of Pete! I'm about halfway through The Dead Place by Rebecca Drake. And what do I go an do? Forget my book at work. Talk about d'uh!

The last book in the series,
I Shot You Babe (Bombay Assassins, Book 4) by Leslie Langtry, is now available in bookstores.
