Yeah but I am a fast reader and I do read a lot. Not to say you are a slow reader but you are a slower reader than me. And finishing the A-Z challenges in under 4 months is really really good no matter if I completed it before you, it is nicely done! :)

Updating my written down list of names I just realized I've actually read a Z character already. This is why I need to update every challenge and write down names and places and stuff right away after finishing a book. I'm sure I've missed loads of locations already because of my laziness.

There's an X character in the book I'm reading now if anyone is interested : Xochi in Partials by Dan Wells. Them X's are hard to find.

Yeah, I tend to just get lucky with X's.

Having a Kindle helps with these challenges. I highlight names and locations :)

That is why I try to update 3 books at a time. I will then go through all the challenges one for one and see if I can use one of the books in that challenge. If I update one book at a time I don't have the patience to do that.
I also keep a small notebook with in it the different challenges and what I still need to do for them. So when I am reading I can check that notebook to see if I can use that book.

Ah, apparently I'm an overzealous nut job. The moment I finish a book - unless it's the middle of the night or I was reading in a coffee shop - I immediately come and log on to update as many challenges as possible. Sometimes I update while I'm still reading, and put it in italics to show that I'm not done yet. And honestly, if a certain whiny male wasn't likely to complain that I was disturbing him, I'd probably do updates after those late night reads too.

Can you use a charachter in books that are part of a series and whose first name is never mentioned but in one of the books it is revealed that his first name begins with an X? Can you use this character and can you use all the books or just the book where it is mentioned?
To make it clear for everyone it is about Lord Akeldama in the Parasol Protectorate series. In book 4 in the prologue they mention his BUR registration number and they contain his initials, which are XA.
I don't need the X myself and I will reread all the books this year so it won't help me but maybe it will help someone else. :)

Since he appears in all the books and his name is the same although his initial is only mentioned once, I vote we can use it for any of the books!

Well in that case there are 5 books with an x character. I don't know if anyone still needs one for this year, but it might come in handy for next year.
