Realistic Role Play

Val was in the middle of a light sleep, enjoying random, colorful dreams. She was about a mile from the nearest city, and she was resting in an area that had snowed overnight, thus most likely concealing her from any potential poachers.
Her eyes slid open. Around her, soft flakes were falling, as if trying to greet the sunrise. She lifted her head and flexed her jaw in a yawn, then heaved herself to her paws; another day to face.
She shook out the snow in her pelt, then took a good look around; it was slightly misty because of the low clouds, and still snowing, but other than thought, nothing had changed since twilight the night before. Val acknowledged this fact with a soft huff from the muzzle, then her mind was suddenly set on breakfast when her stomach grumbled, reminding her of her hunger.
It was when she was scanning the area in search of food that she realized someone -- or something -- was nearby. Automatically her attention was brought to this and she couldn't seem to let it go; someone -- or something -- could be watching her, could've been watching her for a long time and she didn't even notice. Her ears flattened and the fur along her spine pricked defensively.
She jumped towards the sound of a voice, whirling around to face the stranger. Her blue eyes narrowing, she replied sharply, "What do you want?"
Her ears relaxed, laying forward once again, but her expression remained hard. "Get lost, kid; you won't find any 'friends' around these parts." Val rolled her eyes, descending onto her haunches in a sitting position.
She, too, was young -- in fact, probably younger than the one named Soreana herself. "Heh; no." She smirked to herself while holding her head high, looking the stranger in the eyes as she spoke.

Balto felt her ear turn to a direction. Other wolves were in her land, her home. She growled and ran for the other wolves.
"As I said," -- her lips began to curl back over her teeth, revealing them, and she stood from her spot once again, growing impatient with the stranger -- "get lost."
( Uh. O.o Just be a wolf watching in the distance, I suppose, or do what Kaian did -- just be somewhere in the forest doing your own thing, then join up with us. -shrugs.- )
"Hmph," she grunted towards the new stranger, the one named Balto, then shrugged; still frowning with furrowed eyebrows, she took a step to the side -- not backward; that would be a sign of submission if they desired to take it that way -- and muttered, "Don't mind if I do."

Val turned into the forest, moving in the opposite direction of the nearest city; the nearer the city you got, the less prey there would be. She made sure to note every scuffle, every breath of every creature around her as she moved.

It wasn't long before she was trotting back in the city's direction with a rabbit in her jaws. She would have eaten it back where she had got it, but the vicinity of the city felt like home to her in a way; she liked knowing that she wasn't the only one out here in the wildnerness.
She took her place several paces from the city, on the edge of the forest, lying in the snow as she dug into her meal. She relied on her white pelt to conceal her if anyone looked her way.
In the distance, she could hear voices -- familiar voices. She glanced around, licking her lips clean.

Val muttered something underneath her breath and sat up. After a moment of glancing around, she stood and began digging a small hole to bury the remains of her meal, then she sat again.

"They don't own me anymore. I am a loner but I have met a few people who care for me."
When she caught the eye of a person in the city, she grunted and immediately leaped to her paws and turned for the forest at a trotting gait; no need to alarm the humans when it is possible to avoid the situation.

Her gaze flickered, following the other two for a moment as they made their way towards the town. Her hackles raised, but she remained silent and just continued to watch them.
She continued to watch, her gaze narrowing; how that meat looked so tempting. She considered stealing it, but quickly decided against it.
Valerie couldn't help herself any longer; she leaped to her paws and began to creep towards the others until she was beside the human residence, a place where the other two couldn't see her; perhaps she could sneak something when they left, or maybe she could even steal what they had away from them.
