1. The Doctor's Blessing by Patricia Davids Finished Jan 2

I'm really enjoying this series. Although this one was more about Englishers than the Amish. But it is set in the same Amish community as the first book.

2. Cookie Recipes - How to make cookies like a pro! by Judith Stone
Finished Jan 4

This was a free Kindle book. I thought it would be more about how to but it was just basically a collection of cookie recipes.

3. An Amish Christmas by Patricia Davids Finished Jan 6

I have really enjoyed The Brides of Amish Country series. I've had this book since I bought it last year. I can't believe I waited so long to read it. I really can't wait to read the other two books in the series and recommend the series to Amish Fiction lovers.

4. An Amish Family Reunionby Mary Ellis Finished Jan 8th.

I learned from another review that a lot of the characters in this book are from other books she has written. Mainly the Miller family. I have only read one book by her so I do not know. This book was really hard to get into because there are so many people to keep up with. I got confused even though the author provides a family tree in the front of the book. It is about a family reunion so she did have to incorporate a lot of people. Once I finally got into the book I loved it. I really enjoyed the characters. There is so much going on in this book from a pregnancy, a death, a Rumspringa trip, a near death, a romance, a break up, lots of Amish buisineses, Amish writting a book and a whole lot more. I loved the part about the Rumspringa trip to Niagra Falls. This was just so different than anything I ever read in Amish Fiction. I also enjoyed seeing Amish write a book that was really different too.

Thanks for the heads up about this book, Lorie. I've got this book from NetGalley but the only Mary Ellis book that I've read was her Christmas one, Sarah's Christmas Miracle. But it does sound really interesting and quite different from other Amish books.

Also, you're fairly speeding through your books this month! You've read double the amount I have :) Well done!

My knee has been real sore so I have been reading more since I am staying off it and icing it. My bone doctor is out of the country and so I can't go get a shot in my knee for my arthritis pain. My knee totally locked up and my regular doctor gave me some shots but she can't give them in the knee but I did get a lot of relief for now. I also think that my Kindle Fire helps me read faster. If I wake up in the middle of the night I can read because I also have my backlight on the Fire. Also I have read a lot more small books, Love Inspired...

After reading An Amish Family Reunion, I really want to read her Miller Family series. Unfortually, I learned a lot from this book that's probaly way ahead of that series.

6. A Life of Joy by Amy Clipston Finished Jan 15

I absolute love this series. This book focused on the two girls who came to live with Rebecca in book one. I missed getting to spend lots of time in the bakery and in Amish country since most of this book took place in Englisher land. But it was nice to see what was going on in the girls lives now that they are young adults. There was lots of lose ends hanging in this book so I will be excited to read the next book in the series.

I was really wondering how all this circus stuff was going to fit into the Amish, but by the end I totally loved the book!

9. Something Oldby Dianne Christner

This book was not one of my favorites. I had a hard time watching as the main character grew up. She seemed so childish that it messed the book up for me. The story though was not bad. I liked the idea of three friends meeting at a camp to make plans for the future. I also enjoyed learning about the Mennonites. This book had a lot of spiritual stuff in it which is what I like. I think a preteen or teenager would love this book. I just go tired or bored with the main character going back and forth all the time.

Lorie, that is exactly how I felt about this book! The Mennonite details were fascinating, and I thought the friendships between the girls were pretty realistic, but the main character really irritated me by how immature and self-absorbed and judgemental she was. I'm glad it's not just me who felt like this. But like you, I think a young teenage girl, maybe 13 - 15 years old?, would appreciate it.

10. Missing Your Smile by Jerry S. Eicher Jan 30

I really enjoyed this book. I got into the characters. The ending just abruptly ended making it a must to read the next book. kind of reminded me of Beverly Lewis' The Shunning, the ending of that book just ended too making you need to read the next book. overall a good story about an Amish girl who leaves for the English world and her expereinces in that. It amases me how hard it really is for an Amish person to live in an Englishers world after only knowing Amish ways.

This book was a little strange but I finally got into the characters. It was a cute little story. I think I would have liked reading it during Christmastime but overall an okay book with a good message.

I was excited to read this one too. While it was good, I really did not like it as much as the first two. I really did not picture the way it ended as how I thought it would end.

17. Wicked Witch Murder by Leslie Meier April 3

I;ve been reading this series for a long time and really enjoy reading a good comfort mystery. This book really went into practicing witchcraft and was really different than her other stories, but I still liked it as the main character was not invloved in the witchcraft.

I loved this book! I've loved all of them in the series. This on is about two widows who get to find love again after thinking they would never marry again. We also see an adoption story in it and learn about Alpacas!
