For my 12+3 Challenge for this year I've chosen books mainly from my ever increasing to be read pile at home. Some of these are books that the group has already read, and I never got round to. There's also 3 books that I started and didn't finish, so I'll start with these first.

I've also included some classic gothic tales that I think I feel I should read ... and a couple of other classics (Slaughterhouse Five and One Hundered Years of Solitude) that I would like to read.

1. Nights At The Circus by Angela Carter

2. The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters

3. The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

4. The Luminous Life of Lilly Aphrodite by Beatrice Colin

5. Perfume by Patrick Süskind

6. The Turn of the Screw (Case Studies in Contemporary Criticism) by Henry James

7. The Yellow Wallpaper and Other Stories by Charlotte Perkins Gilman

8. The Silent Land (UK) by Graham Joyce

9. The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall

10. What Was Lost by Catherine O'Flynn

11. When God Was a Rabbit by Sarah Winman

12. American Gods by Neil Gaiman

13. Slaughterhouse Five A Novel by Kurt Vonnegut

14. One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez

15. The Fall of the House of Usher by Edgar Allan Poe

Could you all check your lists one last time to make sure you follow the "12 books you have wanted to read for over a year + 3 reserves/substitutions". I got the general outline of the challenge from elsewhere and I think the point of the year thing is so that you are reading books that you have been meaning to for a while (more satisfaction at finally reading them, more incentive to finish - who knows what else lol) It is up to you if you really want to sneak some in there that haven't been on your list quite as long but that's up to you (I won't know the difference if the publication date is over a year ago) - it is pretty much the only rule other than the dates
