Hi everyone! I'm a reader and a writer. I joined this site years ago but lately wasn't really active here sadly.
I don't know if this could belong here or that anyone here could help me but I give it a shot. I have a novel called Song of the Sirens. I live in Hungary and I published this novel here in my country in 2015. Since then it got positive reviews but I had no promotion so I'm not a well-known author. I hired a professional to translate my book into English. I sent my manuscript to many publishers. Most of them replied and said they really liked it but since I'm not famous they don't want to take a risk and either said no or asked for a lot of money from me - which I could not give them because here in Hungary we use different currency - not dollar or pounds neither Euros. And because of that the otherwise not so much money became a lot, which I could not afford. Is there anyone who could help me to find a publisher who would willing to publish the book? It's a thriller which takes place in Greece on an island.
Synopsis: Detective Ilias Venizelos travels to the Island of Symi to investigate the murder of a journalist, Melissa Florakis. Meanwhile, on the island strange deaths occur as the owner of a villa, Petros Marangakis, comits suicide as he jumps off a cliff one night. A local fishermen also disappear and people starts talking about hearing the song of the Sirens, after an archeologist gets killed nearby a digging site...

To Akos: good luck. I am sorry you already but your own funds up for publishing and for a translation. It takes three or four well-written books before anybody will notice you in the world of publishing, unless you have a way in and a hand up from a university department professor, who is an established author and recommends you, or when you are a really, really gifted writer and have a book or a subject that is very different from most other authors or books.
