Plot Summary:

With the precision of a surgeon, a serial killer preys on the most vulnerable souls of the world's city streets. The first victim: a Sidewalk Sleeper, found dead in New York City. No bruises, no signs of struggle. Just a laser-perfect, fist-sized hole where his heart had once been. Lieutenant Eve Dallas is assigned to investigate. But in the heat of a cat-and-mouse game with the killer, Dallas's job is suddenly on the line. Now her hands are tied. . .between a struggle for justice - and a fight for her career. . .

I finished this one last night and I think it's ranking up there on my favorites in the series so far. I thought the suspension put Eve in an interesting position and I liked that a large part of the investigation turned into the Eve and Roarke show (more-so than usual). It also took me a bit to put together who the killer was and that's always a good thing for these books.

Courtney (ccousins) I thought it was interesting, the way she handled the suspension. Being a cop is such a big part of who she is, I would have expected her to ignore the rules and show up at Cop Central despite not having the badge. Granted, she did her own thing in her home office to help her team clear her, but I felt like I could have seen her storming into Cop Central, hounding the Commander to clear her.
