Lets nominate some books for our first groupread.

I'll start with my own nomination: Middlemarch: A Study of Provincial Life.
When I looked at it on this website I saw that some of you guys marked it as to read so lets tackle it together.

If you would like to read something else: please make your nominations here!

Nominations can be made until the 9th of april, by then I will put up a poll and everyone can vote for the book they would like to read.

I also don't think giving it only a week is a good idea, then there will be little room for discussion. We can make a reading schedule depending on the chosen book.

Lucy Georges | 2 comments This is on my list of "classics I suppose I should finally read, or re-read because I've forgotten them" so I'm up for Middlemarch over as many weeks as everyone wishes.

Never read it and am interested!

William S. (shinew123) | 4 comments I would be interested, but I might be a little late in getting to it because I just started a new book. It is on my general to read list, so I definitely will read it this year.

Nick | 3 comments I'll definitely participate. Maybe after the first group read, we could get more suggestions. If I were to suggest a book, it'd be Einstein's Dreams; it's a fairly short read and is one of the most amazing pieces of writing I've read. Scott could vouch for it.

Sounds like we have consensus on Middlemarch - when do we start? And how does this work..?

I'll keep Einstein's dreams for the nominations for the next group read. Or maybe if it is short we can set up two simultaneous groupreads? What do you guys think?

Nick | 3 comments I think Middlemarch is a good bit to handle, though Einstein's Dreams is a collection of short stories so it's pretty easy to pick up and put down again. Maybe try out the group read on Middlemarch and see what people think of the reading load after a while?
