Good morning and can I just say, I can't believe we're at the end of April already?! Something not so funny- I had a dream I was decorating my Christmas tree. lol!

I'm starting this week with Bitter Frost by Kailin Gow and Highland Mist by Donna Grant.

I know what you mean, Okie. It's kind of crazy how fast this year is progressing.

I read Roxanne St. Clair's Barefoot in the Sand this weekend. I really enjoyed it. Older woman/younger man romance. It had a women's fiction feel to it, but it was sexier than your usual WF.

Am dithering about what's next. So many choices.

Phoenix, those are some of my favorites by JQ. I have re-read them so many times that the spine is starting to come apart.

I am still working on Laura Lee Guhrke's Abandoned by the Alter series. I am on book 2, Scandal of the Year.

Theresa Romain | 420 comments So many exciting new releases today. I'm looking forward to reading Sherry Thomas's Beguiling the Beauty, Zoe Archer's new Hellraisers book, and I'm still waiting on my pre-ordered copy of Kristan Higgins's Somebody to Love. Right now I'm glomming Grace Burrowes, and woot! She's got a new book out today too:Lady Maggie's Secret Scandal (The Duke's Daughters, #2)

Susan (susaninaz) | 1075 comments I just finished Suzanne Enoch's Taming an Impossible Rogue; I'm now reading The Seduction of Lady X by Julia London. Both very good, but no surprises.

Irisheyes | 896 comments I read a review on AAR for Elaine Levine's Logan's Outlaw and it sounded right up my alley. So, I got it for my Nook and read it over the weekend. I really enjoyed it and decided to purchase the other books in the series. Right now I'm halfway through the first in the series, Rachel and the Hired Gun. This one is a little slower going but I'm still enjoying it.

I'm always on the lookout for a good Western author and it looks like I've found another one. If I pace myself, these could possibly hold me until Kaki Warner's next release! LOL

Liz (shadoedove) | 3 comments I just finished EJs The Duke is Mine this morning. I reread the first two of this fairy tale series before starting it. I found this group when I went to update my books and immediately requested to join. I'm a huge EJ fan. I had never read anything by JQ before but, thanks to this group, I promptly downloaded the first book in her Bridgertons series to my kindle fire and am loving it!

I have 7 books that came out today--by Roberts, Burrowes, balogh, Gibson, Mallory, Darcy and Thomas. Plus still have the new Higgans and Barbara O'Neill from last week. Now all I need is time!

Liz, welcome to the group. I hope you enjoy JQ's books. They are some of my favorites.

Which Mallory do you mean? Anne Mallory? Mallory series by Johanna Lindsay? Another Mallory?

Sorry, typo. Susan Mallery. I think is how it's spelled. Although my phone spellchecks it to Mallory.
Not sure when Anne's next is out--I should look.

Welcome aboard, Liz! Glad you found us. You've got some fun times in store if you're just getting started with JQ. :)

After the Roxanne St. Clair I picked up Fastball by V.K. Sykes which is the pen name that Vanessa Kelly uses when she writes with her husband, Randy Sykes. Fastball was a lot of fun. It reminded me of Jill Shalvis' baseball books. It's only 2.99 for a full novel too, which is a bargain.

Now I'm reading Nora's The Last Boyfriend. It's pretty slow so far. But I can take a slow pace every not and then.

Finished the last boyfriend. I didn't like it as much as the next always (although I enjoyed seeing more of Claire and her family.) It felt like we never saw the development of the relationship really. And it's not enought for me to believe in a romance just because we are told the sexual attraction is there--you have to see why they are right for eachother. That didn't come across--whereas it did in tbr first book.
Also finished Lady Maggie's Secret Scandal. Classic burrowes--love how the relationship develops but deeply annoyed by the plot and failire to comply with the mores of the time. Cant really believe she would be allowed to live alone or even with a companion., for example, and if she did ahe should be something of a pariah.

I finished Mary Balogh's The Proposal and loved it. I have waited a long time to see Gwen get her HEA, and I thought Hugo was wonderful. Despite his dourness, he reminded me of Heyer's Hugo in The Unknown Ajax. The new series promises to be interesting. I'm particularly fascinated by the blind character.

I also read The Last Boyfriend. As usual, I liked NR's characters, but this series is weaker than the Wedding Quartet IMO.

Janga I agree completely about Balogh's The Proposal--I loved it. I saw the resemblance to Heyer's Hugo. But also to Aidan Bedwyn. And I love how completely she immerses us in the period. (although I did catch a tiny anachronism--no interior designers then.)

Liz (shadoedove) | 3 comments I finished The Duke and I and now am placing JQ right up there with EJ and Balogh as must read authors. The Bridgertons promise to be as much fun as those naughty duchesses and those wild Bedwyn siblings.

Thanks so much for the kind welcome. I look forward to adding more authors to my Must Read list this summer.
