I fully realize that I may be the only one out there! I'm in Jackson, so anyone from Ann Arbor, Lansing, Battle Creek... we can make something work!

I also work at a winery that would be a perfect place for a local hangout! In case you are in the area and were on the fence...

Detroit area here, but I would definitely be up for a drive if something like this were to happen!

I'm in Grand Rapids and highly doubt I will find anyone else here! I would be willing to make the drive if whatever is planned works with my schedule! (I travel a lot in the summer.)

Well, three Michiganders is better than I had thought! Maybe we will find some more. Too bad we are all scattered throughout the state!

I also have an open schedule. Let's see if there are any others (doubtful, but maybe!) and perhaps we can set something up in a place that is fairly central to all of us. I don't think Jackson is going to be great, but maybe Lansing or something?

I just downloaded Cthulhurotica for Kindle (my first-ever Kindle purchase!) so I'm excited to hear other people's thoughts.

This is my last semester of library school (MLIS at Wayne State) so I'm kinda busy but always reading! I also have to be in Detroit a couple times this fall to get ready for graduation, so I'm not sure if there are more VFers in the Detroit area (didn't see a thread...) but I'd be up for something over there too!

I'm down for a meet up! If people are concerned about a middle ground for meeting we could even do a Google+ Hangout.

Oh yeah! G+ would be a great solution! I'm definitely down for that. Do we want to perhaps wait a couple weeks to give people a chance to get started on the books?

A couple weeks is a good idea. I have to wait til my check comes before I can get them. I'm a fast reader though, so it wont be a problem.

If this works out well maybe we could do a G+ twice a month, add our own book? Just a suggestion! I hope we can all agree on a day!

We'll have to see about adding books - it will depend on how long each is and whatnot. I haven't had too much trouble reading both picks, as long as I don't have to use interlibrary loan too often. For this month's, not a library in the state (or even in the country!) had a copy, so it was the Kindle edition for me!

This is my last semester of grad school, too, so I may not have a ton of extra time for reading. However, I had time this month to read the second Kushiel's book, both VF picks, and a couple other shorter books - and that's just reading at night. So I think I should be OK. :)

OK, sorry for the delay! I went crazy with the MeL loans, so I've been reading like mad. Plus I've got a couple essays I'm working on for grad school, and work and life... ANYHOW, I just finished Eternal Pleasure today. I think the hangout for the actual club is tonight? I'd be willing to try for a hangout later in the week, too, if you guys still want to? If not, no biggie. We can try for next month!

I'm about smack in the middle of Lansing and Grand Rapids in a lil berg called Lake Odessa. As soon as I get my car fixed I am happy to head down to the D or easily to Lansing or Grand Rapids. I will add you guys on G+!

We have got to try to put something together - even if it's just a G+ hangout for now! I've been crazy busy with grad school, but I'm done on Dec. 8. I know it's the holidays, but maybe we can find a day for a hangout?

Motor City Comic Con is a cool idea! I've never been, but it sounds fun!

Jodi, you're right down the road from me! I'm in Shelby Twp. MC Comic Con seems to have become a bigger deal than when I was younger! This is excellent, I'll definitely make an appearance if you gals are going to be there.

I did about five seconds of research, MC Comic Con is in May 17-19. Is there a day that would probably work best for everyone? Probably Saturday or Sunday for me.

I would definitely love to go to the Comic Con...I'm getting married the weekend after, so I might be busy with all the stuff that I'm inevitably going to procrastinate doing, but I'll definitely try to fit going in!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it this year - since I just got my Master's in Library Science, I'm going to a big conference in Indianapolis in April to try to make some connections and hopefully get some job interviews lined up. Anyway, that's eating up a lot of my budget this year. I'll keep it in mind and hopefully swing it if I can!

Hello again everyone! We are having another meetup this month in Lansing, but we are a bit more flexible this time. We would like to meet either Friday, March 27 in the evening or Sunday, March 29 in the afternoon. We have previously decided on The Avenue for our meetups, but if people would prefer a setting that was not a bar (but still serves drinks!), we could meet at Soup Spoon instead.
