Review: I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. Clever little world building where shifters, vamps, fae are a part of society, just not allowed to date humans. Bathsheba is a human and works at a supernatural dating agency while trying to protect her sister Sara. Her sister was attacked 6 years earlier, turned into a werewolf and not a part of any pack. It's important to keep her away from any shifters that may catch her scent. So of course, Beauregard Russell leader of the were-cougar clan and the shifter Alliance is smitten with Bath, a weak human and she becomes a target for a serial killing shifter. What does any dominant Alpha do when his virgin girl is targeted? He spends most of the book trying to protect her. I liked the action and pace of the book. The plot had a few minor flaws, but overall very entertaining. Kind of reminds me of Jennifer Ashley's SHIFTER UNBOUND series.

Jennifer I really liked Shadow Reader, hope you enjoy it too.

So going to pick

Historical Bodice Ripper Meets Shapeshifter Dragons.
What a fab new find. Shana Abe introduces us to a whole new mythology about a group of shapeshifters who can turn into dragons and mist/smoke. The author uses some beautifully constructed descriptions, she builds some strong characters and really played on my sense of female equality (have you ever seen the movie The Duchess? I really wanted to hurt the Duke!!).
I loved it. It made my blood boil at a times, it had an interesting mythology, excellent plot and a set of characters that I really enjoyed reading about. Go Rue!!

Almost forgot to report back on MM... Expect lots and lots of eye candy shots. Alcede had the best abs IMO. Mathew McCanaughey's character was an absolute sleaze ball, but man the guy is still in great shape. But if your going for a good story, the plot is on the weak side, but they sure are pretty to look at.

I'm only into it for the eye candy ;o)

Dulcie O'Neil is a fairy thar works as a Regulator in a law-enforcement agency that deals with crimes committed by creatures of the Netherworld. The story starts off with a bad warlock being murdered, and an under cover creature from the Netherworld comes over to help solve the case.
Overall I enjoyed the book. Since my daughter already bought the next two in the series I plan to read them later this year!

Overall, this book wasn't bad. The world the author created is an interesting one. The explanation of how "fissures" work was a bit confusing, but didn't stand in the way of understanding the concept. The heroine, McKenzie Lewis, isn't the typical kick-ass kind of girl. It appears she would be happier letting the "big, strong men," or Fae in this case, take care of the difficult things in her life. There are two main men who love her and she finds herself questioning the validity of both.Â
Towards the end of the book, editing really begins to slack off (I can judge the book's editing errors, but I don't have an editor so please ignore any and all my gaffes). Â Besides that, the writing was pretty solid. While the book was a decent read, the Fae aren't one of my favorite subjects. That being said, I most likely won't read the next installment in the series.Â

And you're surprised because...? We are Divine, Sandra! ;) Seriously, we rock.

Thanks for the hot critique Jennifer, I didn't remember it being about Fae which aren't my fav either. Oh well, I've already got it, but definitely won't go out on a limb & order the next one.

I changed my book to

So, I'm nearly finished it & will have a review up in about an hour or so :)

What's an "E theme?"

Review up in a few minutes!

Two books, two authors I've read before, and yet combined they only achieved 3 stars.
Zoe Archer's Prequel to the Blades of the Rose was a bit entertaining, having already read the first 2 books in that series, I know that each book focuses on different Blades and Sources of Magic, this one was Cass Fielding and Zombies. If I'd read this one first I probably wouldn't have bothered with the series just cause the writing didn't totally capture my interest.
In Bianca D'Arc's Simon Says, first in the Guardians of the Dark series I had the same problem with the writing, it was a bit too predictable. It is a Special Ops story and our soldier, Simon Blackwell, finds out the hard way he is immune to zombie bites while on a mission. Once he is recovered, he is tasked with exterminating a batch of zombies just outside of Qantico base.
The base where the love of his life, Dr Mariana Daniels, is stationed. The same Dr whom he'd left once he'd been bitten, without saying goodbye. Of course, our Dr lives out in an isolated spot near the woods, crawling with zombies, that no-one knows about except for Sp Ops. See where this is going?
If I read the rest of the guardian series it'll be only cause I already own them.

Good Job!! :D

Errrotttica, lot of the freebies seem to be in this category. I never read them until the kindleization. Then of course even if it's a 2 star, I gotta know what happens next.
