message 15: by Leonard (new)

Leonard (leonardseet) The Road is a great dystopian book.
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
The Road

Blood Bone and Muscle

Conspiration du siècle
The conspiracy theory of the century.

This book needs to be translated into English!
It's one of those rare books that you feel completely lost until the end and then figure out that the author would have written all the chapters backwards and switched them to give that effect. A truly thought provoking book about an American Religious Sect that takes a Fiction novel too far...

You should read it! I love the cover of Speechless-it's just plain white and says speechless in white. I find it so clever.

Jasmine (jazzyjams) | 1616 comments I recently discovered the Leviathan Trilogy by Scott Westerfeld, and I loved it!

It has a bit of a steampunkish/futuristic vibe, amazing characters (including a strong female character with a rather interesting vocabulary), while tying in Historical aspects of World War I with a hint of romance (the romance isn't a big part of the books though, so it's there as an element, not the whole plotline).

In short, it's a great series that I recommend.

message 22: by Karina (new)

Karina Jazz, have you read anything else by Scott Westerfeld?

Leonard (leonardseet) Karina,

In a sense it is disturbing. But it makes me think how much I would try to survive, just to survive. In other word, what keeps me going?

Elsie Chapman’s suspenseful YA debut weaves unexpected romance into a novel full of fast-paced action and thought-provoking philosophy. When the story ends, discussions will begin about this future society where every adult is a murderer and every child knows there is another out there who just might be better
