A Lady's Guide to Mischief and Mayhem by Manda Collins
"I really enjoy this series as a whole with romance, murder mystery, and regency. I also really liked that Kate was an independent woman for as much as she could be for the times, as well as a newspaper owner and writer."

Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
"My favorite thing about this book is the way the video games mirror the emotional states of the characters, like when Sadie plays a stealth game when she wants to disappear, or when Sam offers his mom a chance to practice "killing ghosts." These parallels are everywhere in the novel. Even though some of the emotional moments can feel too dramatic and overwritten, I did feel the sadness, frustration, and feelings of loss. The emotional honesty within the dialogue reminded me of Sally Rooney, who is able to articulate thoughts and feelings I've had without realizing it. Unlike Rooney, however, Zevin's characters do confront each other and have quite explosive interactions. A tiny part of the book that I also loved was the wisdom and compassion of the grandparents. "

Actually some of the most beautiful writing ever but i have to give it one star because a character dies from what is literally my worst nightmare like it is so horrible and it makes my skin crawl and I wish I had not read it. So not really zora’s fault but still it kind of is because she should have known my feelings about this particularly wretched way to go ]]>
