"There must be no war here, no more deaths of our people if there is a way to avoid it."

What hope is there for an unacknowledged attraction between two warriors from different worlds? Mariel and Sárán face impossible barriers to romance, the chief of which is duty. Mariel, an Iraq War marine veteran struggles with injury and the ghosts of combat in her Native American grandfather’s cabin beside a lake in Maine. Sárán, a Prince of the Fae, is thrown into her world across time and space after being wounded in battle in legendary Ireland.
Both struggle with more than their wounds as they grow in mutual attraction they cannot acknowledge.

This is a fascinating story melding the mysticism and spirituality of two disparate cultures, Native American and Irish, into a lyrical tale of love that crosses boundaries. Mariel is a complicated, fierce, vulnerable heroine. Sárán, the ideal of heroic courage and honor.

The two battle scenes in this book are masterfully written and not to be missed by anyone who loves action and suspense. This is edge of the seat excitement.
Overall, Incident at Cross Point will delight any reader looking for compelling characters, magic, romance, and adventure in a deftly created plot. I recommend it highly. ]]>

This superbly written novelette should be required reading in any course of study leading to a career in criminal justice. Of course, as a retired criminal defense lawyer—like the viewpoint character in the book—I would want everyone to read it. But I loved the story for more than its lyrical exploration of the tension between law and justice. It is also a very American story, a Chicago story of the immigrant experience. Again, I identified. The characters are Greek; my family were Lithuanian, but we all knew the same city. As first and second generation native-born Americans, we grew up in a multi-cultural world of love, hope, and troubling memories of the old country.

There is so much love, humor, and humanity in every well-chosen word in this book, it will touch your soul. ]]>

An ability to read and understand Le Carré would be helpful in grasping this book's entry-level exploration of nuance. ]]>

The reviewer has an active imagination or a different definition of rape than the author, or did not read the entire story. Sorry, there is no hours-long rape scene. ]]>
