"This is one of the most interesting and relevant ways to view history. Engaging, packed with fascinating information and it piqued my interest in digging deeper on certain eras � which, in my opinion, is a sign of excellent writing. Pathogenesis is a great starting point for those interested in the history of mankind and in the pathogens that have shaped the world we live in today. I took dozens of pages of notes because a lot of the information was just too good to forget about.

The layout of the book is excellent and easy to follow. The last 2 chapters of the book (covering more modern times) were less in depth than the prior chapters, but overall I think this is a 5-star piece of nonfiction. Bravo! "
