Over the last week I have been completely immerse in this book and I don't regret it 🤭

In this novel Isabel Allende introduces us to Violeta, a woman who wants her grandson to not only remember her, but also meet her true self. A woman who made a name for herself in a time of female oppresion, a woman who feel in love time and time again, but most important a woman who fought for herself �

This year I decided I wanted to read more from Portuguese authors, here goes Os Dias da Febre by João Pedro Marques 🇵🇹

Besides being a novelist, João Pedro Marques is also an historian and throughtout the book his historian essence is notorious, yet, I felt that sometimes it was a little bit too much, since there were a LOT of remarks 🙃

However, once we focused on the romance lived by Elvira and Robert the story was quite an interesting one 💕and some of the references of past events actually made the story more believable and interesting 🥹

At the end of the original Peter Pan once an adult, Wendy Darling does not recall her time at Neverland with grace, and this book might explain why.
In this darker version, we are introduced to the dark side of not only Neverland but its creator 🖤
Moreover, we rencounter our favourite three siblings and what has happened to them since their childhood adventure 🧜🏼‍♀️🧚🏼‍♀️🏴‍☠�
However, if you feel like reading it, I need to warn you that it can be a little triggering 😬😀Yet, I feel it is written in such a way, that will captivate you from the beggining 😉

Firstly, I cannot complain I got two books in just one 🤭
Yet if you want to explore Lewis Carrol works you should he is known for a writing style where there isn't a clear line which separates sense and nonsense. And, sometimes this made it a little harder to connect with and delve into the story.
Reading both of Alice's adventures was like going back to a time where we believe in magical creatures and in animals that can speak. Yet, I have found it hard to connect with the storys due to the author's writing.
However, if I had to chose a favourite story I would say that Through the Looking Glass gives a different yet more enriching perspective of the Alice we once knew lost in Wonderland.
