The Mind of the Elderly by Domen Jazbec
"Help for the Helpers

Anyone who cares for an older friend or relative facing mental decline will find many insightful ideas in The Mind of the Elderly. Domen Jazbec uses his work as a physiotherapist to deftly explain the various manifestations of cognitive descent in simple terms and describe how caregivers can slow this process through basic, well-planned activities that will draw a positive response.

From physical and cognitive exercises to creative opportunities and social interaction, The Mind of the Elderly is brimming with tips for engaging older individuals in experiences that are tailored to their unique needs and will build self-confidence, a sense of well being, and trust. I found the recommended self care for caregivers particularly useful, as it is key to the long-term support of our loved ones. I highly recommend the book for both new and experienced caregivers looking for a fresh take on this all-too-familiar issue."

The Mind of the Elderly: How to Recognize and Respond to a Loved One's Cognitive Decline

The Mind of the Elderly is a gentle and practical guide I wrote based on years of experience working as a physiotherapist in home care for older adults. Through my daily work, I’ve seen how families often overlook the early signs of cognitive decline, believing their loved ones are just tired, weak, or getting older. But sometimes, those subtle changes are actually the quiet beginning of dementia or other forms of mental aging.

This book was written to help families recognize those early signs and respond with calm, clarity, and compassion. It includes insights, memory exercises, routines, and emotional support strategies that I’ve seen make a real difference in everyday life.

My hope is that this guide offers reassurance, understanding, and practical help to anyone caring for an aging parent, partner, or friend.

If this topic resonates with you, I would truly appreciate your thoughts or review.
And if you’re interested in reading the book, feel free to message me, I’d be happy to send you a free copy in PDF format.

Thank you for helping raise awareness about this important topic.

The Mind of the Elderly by Domen Jazbec
"As a middle-aged mother who has cared for and lost a parent, I can say I wish there were more books like this out there for every age- and health-related issue that might affect a loved one...

The Mind of the Elderly is, in a nutshell, a well-written manual which takes a holistic approach to care covering everything from physical and mental health, to the emotional well-being of the patient and caregiver while also offering extremely practical ‘how to information in a concise and digestible fashion.

I highly recommend this book for anyone struggling with the frustrations, challenges and perhaps even helplessness that goes along with being a caregiver for an elderly relative or loved one.

An exciting, original, and surprisingly emotional story-I loved it!

This book caught me completely off guard in the best way possible. The concept of teenagers forming paintball armies and reenacting WWII-style battles is original and a lot of fun to read. I found myself really getting into the characters and their journey.

It’s really interesting how the story balances action with themes of friendship, responsibility, and growing up. It brought back memories of my childhood imagination, but on a much larger scale. Recommended for anyone who loves adventure stories with heart!

Very inspiring and practical read

I read this book almost in one sitting. What I really liked is that it's not just dry theory, it's full of real-life experiences. Anita Saville shows how a genuine desire to help others can grow into something powerful and meaningful. There is a lot of useful advice in the book, even for someone who is still figuring out or thinking about how to turn an idea into action.
As an author myself, I truly appreciated how well-structured and grounded this book is. It's encouraging, authentic, and full of heart.
A truly inspiring read. I highly recommend it to anyone who feels the desire to create something with purpose. ]]>
