I still enjoy this series, but it is stuck in a predictable rut:
1. Something from the past resurface
2. Action galore
3. Kimball crosses the line
4. The Vatican Knights are agast!
5. Kimball removes his collar
6. The light is still out of reach

This book seems to have the most action of any in the series so far. But that also means this has the least amount of character development as well. Pretty intense and dark at times. At first I thought this was going to be a typical book of the vatican knights with Kimble wallowing in the past. But then we're introduced to a really interesting backstory, and then a very exciting ending.
