This series is really not for everybody. I feel like it sits more in the vein of dark taboo romance than anything, so if that’s not anything you’re interested in, you probably wouldn’t like it. The characters are complicated, their relationship is wildly toxic, and they’re hemmed in by the history before them, and make awful choices in awful situations. At the same time, there’s a very engaging storyline around how their circumstances came to be and the emotional struggles with the decisions they’ve made. I could not bring myself to care about these characters. I think there was too much angst for me and my personal preferences. ]]>
