bookshelves: lgbtq, mystery-and-suspense, young-adult
Plot is intriguing, solvable, and stuffed with lots of likeable characters! Things do drag out a bit in the middle sections and feel a bit repetitive, yet the antics and general conversations are interesting enough to make up for any lack of the plot moving forwards. The humor gets a bit..."quirky millennial" at times, especially with all the IBS jokes. Overall though, a fun read and will definitely be recommending to anyone looking for a good YA murder mystery. ]]>

I wasn't expecting the story to have such a narrow, intimate focus but overall it was a quite effective way to explore Ianto's current state of mind. It is veryyy weird that this wasn't a plot that was more fully addressed in the show, especially considering how it all affects Ianto and Jack's relationship, and while it would have been preferable to see this unfold on screen, it's nice to get the details filled in somehow. If Jack had more lines and a little more depth in this that would bump it up for me! ]]>

General vibes were promising, and the production quality is top-tier, but wtf is up with the random drag queen diss in the middle of this? Annoying that a story set in such a queer show/world throws that in and just doesn't address it. I know we're not supposed to "adore" Yvonne but those lines were totally uncalled for. ]]>
