They’re mates—but they don’t like each other. She’s nothing like the mate he lost, and he’s unsure why he's been mated with Reese. The dynamic is tense, and angsty.

At times, the story moved a little too quickly—especially in some of the emotional moments that could have used more depth and space to breathe—but overall, this was an engaging and steamy read that fans of paranormal romance will devour.

Part of an interconnected series, each book focuses on a different brother, and I really hope there are more to come. I’m an Emily Henry enthusiast, but the quality just wasn’t there in this one!!!!!

This honestly feels like a first draft that needed another round (or two) of revision. The structure doesn't hold together, and the pacing is all over the place. That said, the premise is fantastic—it had so much potential!

Unfortunately, the execution? A great big mess. I still love Emily’s voice and what she tries to do here, but this one needed more time in the oven. Hoping the next book gets back to her usual level of polish and heart.
