The thing was disjointed, rambling, and yet it was Sam Shepard, one of my favorite writers and actors, so I went with it. I left it sitting for years. A white male from a nice suburb, I love the ‘edginess� of writers like Shepard that is probably more accurately called realism. He took the —ed up aspects that were with him his whole life and translated it into words, whether dialogue and stage direction or a book of prose. I put three stars but would say 3.5/5. Not terrible.
