Watch What You Think by Michael Roberts
"In each of our lives, we all go through turbulent times. But what matters the most is how we get to the other side of the tunnel after passing through such difficult times. How one achieves sanity after difficult times is a miracle. This book offers a step by step guide on how to attain sanity amidst turbulent situations.

This book helps you uncover your true self by confronting your inner chaos. By making you confront the chaos within yourself this book also leads you through a path to inner peace and transformation. This books helps you embrace the art of self-awareness and teaches you how to overcome ego and helps in navigating your inner turmoil. It serves as a guide for your personal transformation and offers a roadmap for eternal peace.

Furthermore, sanity in other words is peace within yourself but often times it is easier said than done to attain this peacefulness. This book makes you aware and helps you take action to rewire your thoughts for it is your thoughts and the awareness of your thoughts that helps generate inner peace.

My most favourite part of the book is the art of questioning.

Question everything, including your thoughts. How did I come to believe what I believe about myself and those I care about? How true are these beliefs? These questions became essential to my journey, forcing me to untangle assumptions and rebuild my understanding of myself and my reality.

“if you can catch [a thought], that is to say, notice, the voice in your head, perhaps in the very moment it complains about something, and recognize it for what it is: the voice of the ego, no more than a conditioned mind-pattern, a thought. The moment you become aware of the ego in you, it is strictly speaking no longer the ego, but just an old, conditioned mind-pattern."

All in all this book makes you self-aware and helps you attain sanity"

Watch What You Think by Michael Roberts
"Review :
"Watch What You Think" by Michael Roberts is a self-help book where the author doesn't focus on how we need to change our behavior to elevate ourselves positively, but rather on how we need to rein in the negativities in our minds to find peace.

From the very beginning, the author shares his personal struggles—how he was on the verge of making decisions that could have destroyed his life. He also discusses how, during his time in a State Mental Health Facility, he began learning and applying certain principles to himself, ultimately transforming his life for the better.

The first influence he talks about is the book "A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose" by Eckhart Tolle. In this book, the author first learned about the "egoic mind," its trappings, and how complaining strengthens the egoic mind, which controls a person's thoughts. However, the real turning point came when the author learned to "catch" his negative thoughts before they ran wild, like a horse that's hard to stop. This shift was a pivotal change in his life.

The author also offers advice on how we are stronger than the monsters in our heads. If we have the power to confront them, we can reclaim our inner peace, which should be our main goal.

Among all the chapters, my favorite is "Your Mind is a Garden," where the author describes how our mind is "vibrant, fertile, and capable of blooming with great beauty when properly tended." He shares how, by treating his mind in this way, he began to see incredible changes in his life.

The book is short, but the author presents his points in a straightforward manner, filled with insights, information, and lessons he learned throughout his journey. Personally, the book had a huge impact on me, and I believe it will do the same for anyone else searching for peace of mind."

Watch What You Think by Michael Roberts
"Review :
"Watch What You Think" by Michael Roberts is a book where the author shares his personal journey of enlightenment and how he escaped the darkness he was once drowning in.

In the beginning of the book, the author offers a glimpse into his past, which will intrigue you and encourage you to read more. Throughout the book, he discusses how he was able to recover his mental health, largely due to a book that inspired him greatly: "A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose by Eckhart Tolle." However, it wasn't just the book that helped him; the author also references research from renowned psychiatrists, Dr. Cynthia Meyersburg, and Jeremy Bailenson, the Director of the Virtual Human Interaction Lab, to explain how our "egoic mind" is the primary obstacle in finding peace in life.

Although the book is relatively short, it is unique in its approach. The author uses his own experiences in each chapter, comparing how he felt before applying the teachings he learned and how he felt afterward. Of all the chapters, I resonate most with the ones where the author discusses how constant complaining and negative self-beliefs are key reasons we struggle to find peace and positivity within ourselves.

Overall, I believe the book is straightforward, yet emotional, impactful, and thought-provoking. I think everyone should read it at least once."
