Nice, quick non-Reacher short story

Like the title says, quick read. 50 pages. I actually wanted more…this could be developed into a pretty good novel. This is the first thing I’ve read by Lee Child that isn’t a Reacher story…and it was still good. I wasn’t sure if I loved Reacher or Lee Child’s style of writing and I think it’s the latter. It’s not that Reacher isn’t a great character but I’ve always been drawn to writers that are “auteurs�, their voice shines through. You know a Hitchcock or Tarantino movie by their stylistic habits.
