Thank you so much Get Underlined for the gifted copy of A Forgery of Fate! I won this gorgeous book through an Instagram giveaway.

A Forgery of Fate is a brilliantly written story inspired by the Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.

I did put this book down a while ago for personal reasons, but when I picked it back up again, I was completely enthralled by Elizabeth Lim's storytelling.

If you enjoy the wonder of Studio Ghibli films, The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh, and Dragons, you will fall in love with A Forgery of Fate.

The world-building itself is imaginative and enchanting. I loved learning about Ai'long, the fantastical setting where Elang, the Dragon Prince, is from. The underwater world has my heart, and I don't want it back.

The character development, the relationships made, and family bonds were all so well-written. I enjoyed the slow-burn build-up to Tru and Elang's realizations and unveils.

I also want to say whoever designed the cover did an amazing job 👏 The details are so spot on and go perfectly with the story. I mean, the way they have Truyan drawn out and not all the way filled in is incredible in itself. The paint brush, the gold dragon outline, the blue background, her mole... Elizabeth Lim was definitely blessed by the cover gods.

I thought I had already picked my favorite book for April, but A Forgery of Fate may have taken that spot.
