After having read so many stories by Ruskin Bond back in school, I reconnected with his writing back in 2021. Since then itโ€™s always exciting to see what comes next!! Another Day In Landour was another such book that is a collection of diary entries made by Mr. Bond over the past couple of years.

Through this short collection of entries he talks about all the things he observes each day, his daily routine and shares thoughts on how things have changed around the world over the years.

I especially enjoyed the chapters which start with a flower of the day or bird of the day or even flavour of the day. The writing is so observational that it paints a vivid picture for you while reading and is also a great point of reference for budding writers on using details.

One thing I learnt about Mr. Bond from this book is that he also loves Vodka and Orange Juice as much as I do ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… Heโ€™s mentioned it a few times in the book, and it sure made be crave for it too! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

A very enjoyable and light read, I carried the book around with me across the city reading while travelling in the metro or while sitting in coffee shops!! Good book for all who just want to relax with a light read after a long dayโ€™s work! ]]>

A Book of Books by Sonali Bendre Behl is not a book for avid readers. Based on the content, the book seems to be solely targeted at individuals who are looking to develop a reading habit and are stuck at taking the first step.

The book acts as a guide as well as an activity book to keep a track of your reading, building your vocabulary, writing your own story and more. It is split up into 8 different chapters covering themes of why you should read, how to choose the right book for yourself, joining reading groups and communities around you and how to get into the flow of reading.

The author has also included various book recommendations for different age groups. From picture books for children to reading for young adults. Each chapter gets you closer to developing the habit and sticking to it. The activities towards the end of each chapter make the book more engaging. The illustrations and designs going with each chapter deliver the right message and complement the written word.

The hardcover book, printed on glossy paper makes it look more like a magazine, which is slightly disappointing. Yet, it makes for a good collectible to have on your shelf and something to refer to if you want to recommend reading activities to your non-reader friends. ]]>
