Rated 3.5 Stars

Miss Thornfield’s Daring Bargain was an interesting read. I loved the premise of it but wasn’t all the way sold on the reasons for the marriage and the romance was a little lacking. However, I did find it enjoyable even though it was slow moving. I loved the suspense and mystery aspect that was woven into the story. I also loved that it drew parallels between the current state of this world and the story being told. It dealt with racism, prejudice, immigrants, entitlement and so much more. I loved that it was a diverse cast of characters and can’t wait to read the next in the series.

The narrator did this story and its characters justice. I loved her characterizations she did them so well. I definitely enjoyed listening to her she made this such an entertaining and engaging read.

Not So Fast was equal parts cute, sweet and sexy. I enjoyed it especially the way Mia and Xander's relationship developed it felt natural, like the natural progression of things. The narrator did an awesome with the accents and bringing the characters and their story to life. I loved listening to her.

Between the Cracks had me engrossed from the very first page. I loved it. I was fully invested in these characters and what was going on with them. It was short but compelling and definitely has me eager to read the rest of the series. ]]>

The Charmer was such an enjoyable read even though it was predictable. It was lighthearted and easy to read, I flew through it reading more than half of it in one sitting.

This was my first book by this author but it won't be my last. I'm looking forward to reading more by her. I loved her writing style and the multicultural nature of this book. I don't think I've read a book before with a character from Singapore so I loved exploring what was shown of that country and its culture. I enjoyed the characters, Penelope and Xander, getting to know them and following along on their journey. I loved the way their marriage of convenience came together.

Although I started with the third book in the series I didn't at all feel like I was missing anything if anything it made me want to go back and read the previous books. I also loved that it didn't spoil the first two books.

This was a pretty easygoing read with light angst, some pining and steam. There were also sweet moments littered throughout. I definitely recommend especially to those who love found family.

I didn't know what to expect going in this being my first book by this author and all but what a sensational ride This Vicious Dream was. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though I found parts of it slow. It was intense. The tension had me on tenterhooks. It was action and adventure packed too. There was a part that was reminiscent of and an amalgamation of Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel which I loved. The story was interesting and intriguing and kept my attention. I loved the world. The characters were awesome too although I was a bit frustrated with their actions at times. There were twists and turns galore and treachery and betrayal at its finest. This journey was wild. I can't wait to read the conclusion. I most definitely recommend it.

eARC and ALC Review

Rated 4.5 Stars

Kennedy Ryan can do no wrong. Can't Get Enough was phenomenal. Her storytelling IQ is high. She excels at engaging the reader wholly, delivering emotional impact, gut and throat punches. The emotions in this story packed quite a wallop. I didn't cry but I ran the gamut of every emotion under the sun. Her writing ages as fine wine or whiskey or some sort of spirit and is just as addictive. I loved this book. It did friendships so well, relationships in general. I loved the sisterhood. I loved Hendrix and Maverick's journey it was a clinic on what a romantic relationship should be - filled with kindness, understanding, love, generosity, great sex and so much more. I loved that it didn't shy away from difficult topics of dealing with the decline of a loved one's health, loss, racism, systems of oppression, not confirming to society's dictates etc. I loved it. I think it was phenomenally done.

The narrators performances were superbly executed. They did an amazing job. It was an absolute joy to listen to them. I loved the way they voiced these characters, such a job well done.

It's bittersweet saying goodbye to this series but what a beautiful note to end on. I highly recommend this book and series.

Land of Shadow was amazing. Parts of it was slow but this story was brilliantly done. I loved the way the author decided to tell this part of the story. It was like a rewind on VHS. This book was wild, a roller-coaster ride and a high shot of adrenaline to the emotions. Those last few chapters had me at the edge of my seat in high anticipation mode. Even though I knew what was coming as my mind began putting the pieces together from what went down in the first book with what was taking place in this one it still threw me for a loop. I absolutely loved it. Celia Aaron has crafted a masterpiece. I loved the execution of the second book of this trilogy and so cannot wait to get my hands on the third.

Samael was an awesome start to a new series. It's a suspenseful read with steam and sweet moments. I especially loved the sweet moments they warmed my heart. I loved the setup of this story and for the most part how it was executed. However, I was a little on the fence with the romance, I'm not what it was about but I wasn't fully sold on it but I did enjoy this story, the characters and their journey. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what the next book brings.

Rated 4.5 Stars

Another winner from Nana Malone. I loved Gold Coast Dilemma. It's steeped in Ghanaian culture which I knew absolutely nothing about but after reading this I feel like I've gotten a masterclass on all things Ghana. It's for sure on my list of places I want to visit. I loved how Ghanaian culture woven into every part of the story.

Publishing was another thing that played a major role in the story. I loved getting a behind the scenes look at the publishing industry and all that entailed especially with regards to black women. It was interesting and eye opening.

It was also such an amusing read that I highly enjoyed. There were shenanigans and funny moments aplenty. There was a great supporting cast.

I loved Ofosua and Cole. I loved watching them navigate the ups and downs of their careers and also their relationships. They overcame a lot during the course of the story. I loved watching them grow and Cole awaken to things he had been asleep to.

This book was awesome and I can't recommend it enough.
