I really wanted to like this book. A sapphic vampire on the run x human mercenary who saves her? I was already sat. Unfortunately nothing really happens. Even at the end when they are getting to the main conflict, I honestly didn’t know how it was going to end especially with how much left was in the book. Then the main conflict kind of just stops with little explanation and then poof the book is over. This felt like it wanted to be more than just a standalone. It left me with so many questions with no answer. I would have liked to know more about both Aria and Rome before they met, like how did they end up there and more development during their journey. I am intrigued enough to continue seeing what the author will come up with next. ]]>

Ride with Me by Simone Soltani
"ACCIDENTALLY MARRIED IN VEGAS AFTER BEING LEFT AT THE ALTER??? GAG ME

First off, thank you Berkley, NetGalley and Simone for the arc of Ride With Me, out now! <3

I just adore Simone's writing, and this one had so much yearningggggggg from Thomas that I just want him. I am by no means an expert on F1 (I don't watch it at all) but F1 books??? F1 books written by Simone??? Catch me being the biggest F1 supporter! Simone has the ability to write stories about things I understand nothing about and give a new meaning to the world.

Both Stella and Thomas have to redeem themselves in the eyes of the public. Stella our lovely fmc was just left at the alter and crashed out on social media. Thomas did a little hate spew in private but was outed by someone close to him. When their worlds collide at a bachelor/bachelorette party, they start to talk and flirt a little, but never did they expect to wake up married.

I just love a man who simps, a man who yearns, a man who knows what he wants and goes after it. And that my friends, is Thomas. Simone gave us the number one simp in the world and that was Dev (my man my man my man) but now we have Thomas and I'll be giggling with the next books in the series, because I will be sat waiting for more yearners.

Stella is a strong fmc (strong being the key word, cause girlie I would have folded for Thomas a lot sooner than she did) but also, I 100% understand her reservations because hello after being left at the alter I would have crashed out too and probably do worse. But my girl has her successful bakeries, they continue to go viral, and she is now loved by a man who wants to see her succeed (he bought her all the equipment needed when she moved in with him and idk y'all I might have shed a few tears, because the thoughtfulness is insaneeeeee). I love seeing her relationships grow stronger as she becomes the person she once was but better. She grows beautifully even after being pegged down because of life.

Thomas "my wife" Maxwell-Brown, sir you were so down bad it was everything. The amount of "my wife" scenes had me gasping. Him communicating with people after wronging them and even talking to people who has wronged him made him so much better in my eyes, I fear I do not forget, nor do I forgive. When he loves, he loves hard, and I am so glad we got to see his story. His character development is one I truly enjoyed as well.

So grateful to read Simone's work and can NOT waittttt for the rest of the Lights Out series <33333

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this advanced reader copy. This honest review was based off my experience reading this eARC, which in no way biased me. All opinions are my own.

Ki has hit it out of the park a total of 8 times and counting with her 7 full length novels (INCLUDING QUEEN’S FIRST TRAD PUB NOVEL) and her novella. Trust me I tried to think of a swimming pun that worked and I couldn’t.

One of my favorite things about this author is how unique and individual all her books and characters are. This is still the case with Warren and Quinn in Good Graces. We have a grumpy swimmer kinesiology major and an even grumpier eldest daughter English major, truly what more could you want? Oh and it’s a slowburn second chance romance.

Second chance as a trope is difficult to do successfully and yet Ki makes it feel like it’s effortless how easy and natural she crafted this story. They fell in love slowly at first and then a bad thing happened and there’s a gap before fate intervenes, often if we want to be honest, and they rekindled the flame that never truly went away.

Warren and Quinn have a raw-ness to them that makes them so real and so human. They make mistakes and they forgive this is not just a story of them falling in love with one another but being seen by another and learning yo love themselves as they are loved by each other.

Anyway, I have already read this twice since I’ve gotten my hands on it and each time is more magical than the last. Ki’s work is something I will always come back to. I’ve said it since I read Spring Tide back in 2022 and for every book since. Ki’s books feel like a hug and coming home all in one. Her work is always going to be a comfort read and reread. ]]>

Good Graces by Ki Stephens
"HAPPY RELEASE DAY QUINN AND WARREN <33333 Thank you, Ki for the arc of Good Graces in exchange for my honest review!

As a Ki fan, I unfortunately cannot believe I am saying Fault Line has gotten beat. (If Kaia and Holden see this please ignore)

If you've been here a while, you would know one of my top tropes is second chances, I am a sucker for pain apparently. Top in that beautiful angst and yearning, I will be foaming at the mouth.

I love Ki's work because there's always a trope that isn't too popular. This one being grumpy x grumpy fit beautifully. Both Quinn and Warren have a hard time letting others in, they had a chance before, and it fell through. Now with life constantly throwing them in each other's path, is this a sign to reconcile? YES, MA'AM IT IS.

It took me a few days to read cause y'all my mental health is shitty atm, and reading a book about SECOND CHANCES? Girlie, I didn't stand a chance, truly took my emotional wrecked heart, and said here, we're going to bruise it a little more, hope you don't mind. There were so many little things that made this book so beautifully poetic. The way Warren did things for Quinn without mentioning simply to make her life a bit easier and be by her side. The way Quinn knew when to wrap Warren up and be there for him and when to take a step back to not overwhelm him. There were so many lines that had me gasping, like damn stop sucker punching me.

ALSO, I loveedddddddd that Quinn began boxing as a way to relieve stress, as a fellow eldest daughter I really need to do that, especially with how Ki wrote it in such an empowering way. I love Quinny, my girl needed to feel arms surrounding her when she needed a fall back and ugh, I want to be her friend. PLUS, if you love a man who so easily displays his love and affection, may I introduce you to Warren Mercer? A yearner, a lover, a swimmer <3

Will 100% be rereading them because I already miss them, okay? Okay. Thank you, Ki, adore you and your writing but especially Good Graces, can't wait to meet you at Beachside this weekend <3

- Second Chance
- FMC English Major x MMC Swimmer
- Forgotten Eldest Daughter
- Grumpy x Grumpy"
