"I think more people need to either be reading this or giving this to the children around them to read. Not only does O'Neil have the cutest art style, I feel as though it works really well with the soft, cozy vibes of her books. By having this colourful style, they create a more digestible space to incorporate discussions on global issues - in this case, saving nature, our oceans/seas and specifically, our coral reefs. The light-hearted magical vibe adds a sense of optimism to our otherwise bleak realities, and I appreciate O'Neil pushing forward these themes of environmentalism through a story about familial loss. Middle Grade (and older) audiences will learn about conservatism and responsibility for our waters while being charmed by the novels other aspects. There is also a very casual f/f relationship in here that was both sweet and cute . And of course, the Aquicorns were adorable! "
