Enemy by K.A. Merikan
"What a book. I typically stay away from MC books. They usually aren't my vibe. But this one had such an interesting premise that I had to give it a go.

They're in rival MC clubs? Yep.
They're both in the closet? Yep.
One of the MMC's is responsible for the d**th of the other MMC's brother? Yep.
One of the MMC's name is ROADKILL? Yep. (His actual birthname is worse lol)
The other MMC, Clyde, has hair down to his butt? Yep.
Hectic.

There were so many twists and turns, so many secrets and betrayals mixed in throughout all the while Roadkill and Clyde somehow manage to make time to sneak away together and explore something that they've both only been fantasizing about up until that point. There were sweet moments, moments that were making me sweat in a good way, moments that made me sweat in a bad way, and moments that had me gasping, raging, sometimes even both at the same time. I got to experience the full range of emotions with this one. 😂 Roadkill is my spirit animal and his inner thoughts, and outer ones, had he cackling more times than I could count.

You will need to check triggers before jumping into this one. It's chock full of lots of fun ones (it's hard to tell on the internet but this is me being sarcastic). If you've read them and you're all good, then proceed and enjoy. 😍 If not, back away and maybe pick up something else 👍"

"I would like to thank GRR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Whatever K.A. Merikan writes I read. These ladies have been breaking my heart and putting me back together again for most of my MM reading life and they set the standard for badass MCs who ride or die! I can't get enough of their brand of intensity, the drama, the power struggles and their flair for making dark and gritty be what I need every. single. time. no matter what reading mood I'm in!

And so YES! Enemy was chef's kiss and i think i may have just found my favourite MC MM romance series in Vulture Hollow MC because this was a stunner!

Like always, this was high octane perfection from start to finish! And when the ladies served up the loving between Road and Clyde oh my heart did they ever deliver forbidden romance so soooo good, and so very very hot! The dirty talk was so raunchy I was blushing and i love that for me lol! And THE WAY Road responded to Clyde's answer to "who hurt you?/what did he do?" is simply the ONLY acceptable response!!!

And when this kicked up from a forbidden romance to kick-your-chest-in Romeo and Juliet love story I legit shrieked! I was so IN THIS, eating words and completely immersed in this totally other world that when this recall happened i was sorta shocked that my life was happening outside this story. This book was a real trip because losing myself completely in a book has not happened in a really long time and that was probably the most aces moment of my reading life so far this year!

And not only were the biker babes doing their gritty finest, but the occult vibe was just the most MEGA flex that i want tattooed behind my eyes! It was the height i never knew i wanted my MC romances to hit, and trust the ladies to give me what i needed before i even knew that i did!

All my boxes were checked and i usually am not super emotional when it comes to stabby bikers but wow did this ever take me out at times! This was an absolutely PERFECT read to gobble up on a weekend and i cannot wait for more of this exhilarating and phenomenal series that is sure to blow my mind with every installment to come!

All
The
Stars
And
Then
Some!"

"Nowhere on my 2025 Bingo card was “MM Romeo & Juliet bikers, but this book was amazing! Clyde and Roadkill had me in third clutches from chapter one. I mean, what’s more forbidden than opposing motorcycle clubs? (Rhetorical question, I know there’s other things just ride with me here.) Add to that the fact Roadkill unalived Clyde’s brother? Perfection.

Also, as someone with some exposure to a real life motorcycle club, of the noncriminal variety, I enjoyed the correct terminology of that world. It’s little things like that that helped keep me fully immersed in the story and wondering what day it was when I came up for air.

And now, some quotes:
“Oh, didn’t think you’d come for that f**k so fast. Might be difficult in the cast, but I’ll take a hand job any day.

“I don’t care that he broke my finger, spat on me, or set a damn bomb in our warehouse. I want him.

“He’s lucky he’s hot, because I’m half ready to arrange a meeting just so I can strangle him.

"This was amazing.

If you're looking for a gay Romeo and Juliet love story or perhaps we should call it Romeo & Romeo😉 with masculine, muscular, badass bikers, this is the story for you.

Roadkill and Clyde are on opposing sides, literally. They both belong to different gangs who have had beef for years and which has ramped up in the past few years due to Clyde's brother's death, who had been the president of the club at the time.

They've 'hated' each other for 10 years, but also have been secretly attracted to each other for just as long.

In a clash between the two MCs, both go down in what seems to be what will be their last moments alive. When Clyde asks if there's anything Roadkill regrets never having done in his life, he says he wishes he'd fucked Clyde. And Clyde? Well, Clyde admits that he would have let him.

But...they survive what they thought they wouldn't.

And with both of their MCs being highly homophobic (Clyde's more than Roadkill's, though) and the fact that they're literal enemies, both meant to fight for a different club, their want of each other has to be kept secret.

But they both know they want each other, it's out there and there's no going back. After they've recovered from their injuries at the beginning, they can't stay away from each other for long.

Tensions are high, but there's something about the other they can't stay away from. They also rationalize it first as it being mutually assured destruction, as they both have something to lose, something to hide from their prospective clubs. They'd keep the secret, keep each other's secret - that they're both gay - and they'd get to explore truly being with a man for the first time. They get to have sex they truly want with someone they're truly attracted to, and they can end it at any time and it'll be easy as they're enemies, right?

Well...

Of course they fall in love. But how can they be happy and together and out in their HEA by the end?

You'll just have to read it to find out.

I truly loved this one, it was one of these authors' best works in awhile. I couldn't get enough of this and absolutely devoured it from start to finish.

The chemistry between Road and Clyde was undeniable and sizzling. The forbidden aspect is one I absolutely eat up, and them being true enemies at first was delectable, especially seeing them go from enemies to lovers. To being so in love that all they wanted was each other, no matter what. Despite the danger all around them, despite that they might be killed by their clubs if they're relationship is found out.

There's also the fact that Roadkill...(view spoiler) and that is definitely a source of tension - but also, is it as black and white as it seems? No. And I loved that.

It takes time for them to trust each other, but once they do, they don't hide things from each other, and they are it for each other. No one else will do for these two.

And no worries, they aren't with anyone else in this whole story and it is strictly monogamous between them. So do not worry about any of that going into this. They were with others previously to keep up appearances, but it's only talked about.

Also, TRIGGER WARNING: Road was previously Sexually Assaulted and Clyde was previously Raped NOT by each other YEARS before they get together, by other men. Those are also not written out or detailed, but they are talked about and described somewhat and dealt with. So just be aware of that going in.

That out of the way, they find comfort and safety with each other in ways they never were with anyone else. Seeing the consent between them, the eventual love and caring between them was beautiful.

This also has strict roles, no switching (which I personally loved) so be aware of that going in too. It was very hot and these two were delectable together.

Seeing these two badass bikers who can fuck a bitch up be so soft and vulnerable and loving with each other was wonderful, I couldn't get enough of it. They were each other's exception.

And the family they make along the way was great to see too. I cannot wait for more characters from this to get their own book. I'm not sure if Prophet and Creep will have a book together (there was a look Prophet gave Creep at one point so idk!) or have their own LI's, but either way I can't wait for their book (or books)! Like WHO exactly is this ONE man who has given Prophet head over the years? I'm definitely greatly intrigued! So many possibilities for future romances in this new MC world, and I can't wait!

Definitely pick this up when it comes out, you will NOT be disappointed. Especially if you love this author duo, because this one will NOT let you down. It's peak, true to form K.A. Merikan. Couldn't get enough of it!

Until the next one! 😘

I received a ARC of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review."

Ah! This was SO good.
I loved how the characters felt like real people, and the dynamic between the whole friend group was great. Scout does have to be my favorite though <3 I love how he's not some perfect mind reading Dom, but a person who has vulnerabilities, makes mistakes, and is a bit messy, but also has so much heart and is SO funny. His snark is top notch.
I even shed a tear at the end. Fantastic book! Jumping into the next one :) ]]>
