it was amazing
Absolutely loved it. The main character's snarky personality and untamable will were incredible. The plot twists were insane, and in spite of there being no flashy fantasy magic and whatnot, Nielsen was able to keep my eyes glued to the book till I was done. 5/5 stars ...more

Oh. My. Goodness.

This book was... not what I was expecting... mostly

As far as middle books in series go, this one was fairly typical. While the first book definitely had a lot more action (not that this one didn't), The Well of Ascension had an interesting politically-driven plot about 90% of the way through, but it was also largely dialogue and not QUITE as fun to read, hence the 4/5 star rating.
