I've been looking forward to the reread of this series since I completed it in 2020. I do have a greater appreciation for this book than before. The opening book to this series often goes into the least favorite book in the series. But as the series is one long story, it is, to me, only the beginning. ...more

really liked it
I enjoyed this book, along with its setting and the characters. I was most vested in the main character, but I was also able to get to know minor characters. I didn't really vibe with the flashbacks, at least initially, but I couldn't say the book could exist without them. I think it's a me thing. I don't really like interludes and/or flashbacks in books, because it interrupts the flow of the story. Now that I got that out of the way, Twelve King ...more
