Very informative and entertaining account of the Pullman Strike or Pullman Crisis of 1894 as well as several related topics. The heart of the book is largely the saga of what was really two strikes that occurred in 1894, first the strike that was 4,000 Pullman Company employees in Chicago, Illinois that walked off their job on May 11, 1894 in response to being squeezed by both a reduction in pay and no corresponding reduction in rent in their hom ...more
