It begins so sweetly, brimming with innocence and a sense of security. Bruno, such a kind and curious child, seemed to have everything he could wish for—except a friend in his new home. His need for companionship and his boundless curiosity led him to explore, and while I felt the ache of knowing what lay on the other side of the fence, I hoped until the last chapter that the ending might be left vague. It wasn’t. It broke my heart.
