This small collection consists of the three short stories "The Missing Girl", "Journey with a Lady", and "Nightmare". While I adore Jackson’s writing and, therefore, enjoy basically anything she writes on a purely technical level, I can’t say any of these stories left a strong impression on me. I read this on a whim late at night and practically in one sitting, which is fitting for the novella. In the author’s note, M. L. Rio writes about Graveyard Shift that she "liked the idea of a story about sleep and sleeplessness that could unfold over only one evening, like a shady, troubled dream".
