I liked my illustrated edition, a short but enjoyable read. I thought the manipulation and sensuality between the two main characters were well portrayed, but I wish their interactions got deeper.

A deep dive into the horrors that plagued both sides of WWII. The irony and hypocrisy of the Germans contrasted with the frightened endangered lives of the people in Saint-Malo. Highly recommend.
