really liked it
Mixed feelings about this one. I love the way Penny portrays the positive loving relationships among all her characters. The perfectly imperfect little village of Three Pines. Can I go there and retire some day? Could I afford to eat at the bistro at least once a day? Of course lovers of this series have to suspend some belief!

They are not flawless people by any means and have a complexity. There are always poignant parts, here especially around

it was amazing
I absolutely LOVE this book series. Stifling some snivels at the end. I find his characters so human. I enjoy the way Backman foreshadows without giving much away, with various possible directions an event could take, so the outcomes are often a surprise. There's a lot of life observations contained in these pages. Of course for me there is the connection to the locale in Sweden. I grew up in a town with strong high school and state hockey.
