The first book I read more than once. I recently (within the last 5 years) re-read it, & it still has an intensely powerful message of people overwhelmingly dependent on a resource. I think most sci-fi fans would agree that it remains one of the top science fiction novels of all time. My wife says I am such geek, because I love epic sci-fi like this. I have to say again that what I heard in the past isn’t true, that these books that follow the original Dune and Dune Messiah aren’t any good. That is absolutely false. The saga continues for the fate of humanity, with the Bene Gesserit at the center of the action. I recommend anyone who has read the original to complete the series.
