Blood Meridian, or, the Evening Redness in the West by Cormac McCarthy

Sean’s first review of the year

really liked it
I have no idea how to review this. It’s unrelentingly bloodthirsty, horrible, and to put it mildly, a challenging read.
But it does make you think, which is what all great art does.
And that ending will roll around your brain for months as you try and figure out the symbolism of it all.
So, yeah. I didn’t enjoy this at all. But I think I love it.

Books Do Furnish a Life by Richard Dawkins

Sean’s last review of the year

it was ok
I love the man, but after the first chapter, this was a rambling, odds and sods collection of forewords to other books and reviews. Doesn’t say anything new.
Avoid this and get yourself one of his other works instead. There’s a lot to choose from!
