The Talisman by Stephen King

Fredric’s first review of the year

it was amazing
This was written very well, as everyone likely knows by now, yet the novel contains truths about America that we continue to hear stories about in the real world yet think is rare. They're not.

The Christian fascism being committed against our heroes in the novel is rampant and widespread in the real world, and King tries to underscore the filth that is religion without going overboard on it, as he does with the corruption of fascist police touche

Beyond The Mark by Kevin Gallant

Fredric’s last review of the year

did not like it
This was cr@p, it reads like it was written by a 12 year old, it was formulaic, plodding, predictable, even the names that the author gave characters were childish: Flynn. Orion.

After reading the first few pages it was clear that the short story is cr@p, and going to the end of the story and reading back a few pages, I saw that it did not improve.
