Carcaterra is not my favorite author, although this is a fairly decent story and I liked it enough that I probably will read the sequel. I did enjoy his SLEEPERS, but some of the others not so much. I think most readers will enjoy this one. I'm a bit harder to please. ...more

This book received a ton of attention and acclaim, but I felt like I was sneakily induced into a trap set by someone like Tyson who used fiction to lecture me on astrophysics, physics, ecological destruction, inhumanity, and other heavy topics presented in a somewhat disjointed but interesting science fiction tale.
