Intense and horrifying. I finished this in one sitting.
To be fair, it was obvious that this was one of his earlier books and, like James Bond, too many things worked out a little to perfectly in the end. Having said that, it was intense. Step into the old world with oppressive customs, strong aspiring women, and plenty of scandal. I enjoyed the coming of age love story, the family challenges, and the storyline of this one. It felt a bit cliche at times but broke from the norm with some adult spice and a well developed plot with lovable characters.
