I've read James Baldwin from time to time since I stumbled on him in high school (I read voraciously and had found a paperback of one of his books). This audiobook came to me as a bargain offering from an audiobook company, Chirp.

I've read that critics hated this book. I felt it was well done. I'd assumed that James Baldwin had rejected his Christian upbringing but was impressed with his portrayal of pentecostal church in his semi-autobiographic
