it was amazing
Especially as a book that focuses on mass market games, I was extremely impressed by this book. Donovan's prose is engaging in each story, as he manages to balance telling a thorough history of a game's creation while keeping it personable and approachable. The stories were so amusing and insightful that many times throughout the book, I would summarize or read a passage from the book to my girlfriend while reading. This was definitely the book I remembered the least, and the interlacing of old and current stories adds more weight to its events than the first two books. The main three are excellent as always, but it's the relationships uncovered between Moony, Padfoot, Wormtail, and Prongs that kept me up late reading. Learning new information that informs who Harry is and how people like Snape, Dumbledore, Sirius, etc interact with him makes seemingly minor ...more
