it was ok
As someone who finds old maps and the history of cartography interesting, I thought this book was going to be fascinating. I did enjoy the topic and learned a lot about it. However, the writing style was a little choppy, and there was a good bit of filler on either end. One of the best volumes of poetry I've read in some time. These poems are intense and intellectually engaging, while at the same time extremely lyrical and beautiful. It's very sad that Arnold's early passing means we only have two slim volumes of poetry from his lifetime to appreciate. ...more
