A creative concept, although I felt the underlying conflict was not sufficient to sustain an entire novel in a compelling way. I got a bit tired of the narrator / protagonist's rationalizations for her choices. I did finish the book and enjoyed it, but would have appreciated more complexity or nuance. ...more

Almost DNF. I do enjoy character or relationship-driven novels and don't always 'require' a compelling plot to enjoy a book. So, the lack of a real plot was not necessarily a deal-breaker. However, I did not find the characters compelling, and the angst over the age gap in their respective relationships was overdone and honestly, not that interesting. Too much naval-gazing for my taste. ...more
