Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger

Beki’s first review of the year

it was amazing
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story is creative while still providing some of the comforts from our existing world. The characters are well thought and played out, staying true to their personalities from beginning to end. I simply wanted to keep reading and wished I could join Sophie on her adventures. Can’t wait to read book two! Congratulations Shannon Messenger!

Beki’s last review of the year

it was ok
Tbh, I tried so hard with this one and I refuse to speak ill of anyone who writes a fantasy novel, let alone a series. However, I got 300 pages in and still hadn’t a good understanding of why I was reading the book. I hadn’t grown to care for any of their characters and a lot of the names (of people and places) were too confusing. I’ve heard great things but clearly wasn’t up my alley.
