Eden Sharp The idea came about as a result of a mixture of things. I love hardboiled crime thrillers, badass loners, anime, martial arts, fighting, tech, existentialism, and social commentary.
Eden Sharp I don't. Not always. I just sit down and do it.
Eden Sharp I believe writer's block is about the inner critic and trying to get something that's fully formed down on a page as soon as it comes out of your head. You need to loosen up, write a list, mindmap, play word assocation, do some timed automatic writing without stopping, anything. Essentially it's about switching off the cold, hard, logical side of the brain and getting into the place of daydreaming and looseness.
Eden Sharp You can be anybody you want to be, in any situation, in any location in the world. And beyond.

You also get to read alot.
Eden Sharp 1. The best way to learn how to write is to write.
2. Give yourself permission to write rubbish. Vomit on the page, self-censorship comes later when editing. All first drafts are bad. You need to mine lots of mud in order to discover the gems that are worth polishing.
3. Observe everyone and everything around you at all times.
Eden Sharp I'm currently working on the follow up story to The Breaks; the second book in my Vigilante Investigator series. It's called GET9 and focuses on Angela McGlynn's past. Her criminality is catching up with her and when the Feds get involved she has to tread carefully because allies and allegiances are shifting fast. It's another hardboiled tech thriller with seemingly insurmountable odds.
