S.K. Ali Aw thank you. Reading this makes my heart bloom. I feel like Zayneb and Adam have been in my brain and soul for a long time -- they're a collection of a lot of beautiful and sad and inspirational aspects of the world I've witnessed in my life -- and so when I wrote Love from A to Z, they came alive quickly. They are special to me and I love when I read how special they are to others too. Thank you again for sharing your A & Z love. <333
P.S. I hope you know a second book with them is slated to come out next year, in fall 2021 iA.

S.K. Ali Walaikummusalam Samrah! Thank you for sharing your love for Saints and Misfits. Regarding what happened to Farooq, there's a little bit of info on that in the sequel but I don't go too much into it because both books are Janna's stories and I didn't want to pull the focus away from her. And if you love Sausun, you're going to (insha'Allah) love Misfit in Love! ;)
S.K. Ali Ahhh, this makes me so sad to read! Because I get this question asked several times every single week via email and messages and I really want to say yes, yes, yes, because I WANT to make it happen so very much.... but, for now, all I can say is that we're working hard to bring the Eid story to "Love from A to Z" readers in a way that's more lasting iA! <333
S.K. Ali Not their nikah itself (which was only family) but he did attend part 4 of their wedding reception. (There were 4 parts: one in Canada where Adam's extended family live, one in the U.S. where Zayneb's family and friends are, one in England where more of Zayneb's relatives (and some of Adam's friends) live and finally, one part happened in Qatar...because that's where it all started of course!)
S.K. Ali I hope so as I'd love to continue their story iA!
S.K. Ali Hi Ele! The Saints and Misfits sequel date is still to be announced. I'll be sure to post an update here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ as soon as we have one. Thanks for asking as I'm very excited to share more of Janna's journey with readers!
S.K. Ali Walaikummusalam Sara! Yes, I've been to Qatar! I lived in Doha for a year and so the places I describe in Love from A to Z are places I loved -- especially the Museum of Islamic Art and Katara. And I'd absolutely LOVE to visit Doha again! I hope the opportunity presents itself in the future insha'Allah and, if so, I'll be sure to post about it here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. :)
S.K. Ali Hi Seema! No plans currently but would love to -- if the opportunity presented itself! :)
S.K. Ali Hi Seema! I'm working on the sequel right now, whee!! :)
S.K. Ali Hi KingdomReader! Here are some quick answers to your quick questions:
1. It took me 5 years to write Saints & Misfits
2. A blog I opened in Janna's voice gave me the idea to write Saints and Misfits
3. Advice: read a lot (i know, i know, everyone says that!), don't stop (especially when things seem hard -- it could be the breakthrough you need to experience to move to the next level!) and don't be afraid to be different!
Hope these help! <333
S.K. Ali Hi Asha! Yes, iA I will be on tour for Love from A to Z in the U.S. and will be able to sign books at the locations indicated on my tour schedule. I hope it works out that I'll be in your city! I'll be posting a schedule here as well as Twitter and Instagram soon so stay tuned! :)
S.K. Ali Salaam Noel! Haha, I love this ("precious literary ladoo") and am also excited that this appears not to be a question but a comment that I don't have to think too hard to answer. :)
During your teenagehood, I was probably dreaming of the day I could write books and get them published. (As I've been dreaming of for a great chunk of my life!) And yay, alhamdulillah, that day arrived!
I can't wait to share my next book with you! Hope you enjoy it as much as you liked Saints and Misfits! <333
S.K. Ali Hi Macy,

I get inspired by the details of everyday life (the good, the bad, the weird, and the transcendent) as well as the epic ah-has we sometimes get -- that (in my mind) appear to knit these everyday details together. And thus, inspire my story-making. :)
S.K. Ali Hi Sama! I'm working hard to have an answer for this soon. I promise to update goodreads when I do have news. Thanks so much for asking! :)
S.K. Ali Hi Amanda! While I am indeed busy writing & editing my next book, I don't know (so can't say) when it will be out. (Though I hope it's soon!) I'll try to do a blog post on GR when I have news. :)
S.K. Ali Thank you Kristine! My favorite part would be the great diversity in this country: from people to trees to seasons to physical geography to...and on and on. That's a lot of MUSE for a writer. :)
S.K. Ali Thanks for asking a question I get often! I love the characters in this book and they do hold a special place in my heart as the first characters I "released" into the world in book form. As of now, there's no sequel planned...but I won't say never. :)
